This was my final project where we were to pick a topic of our choice and raise awareness through design. My chosen subject was to raise the awareness of men who are victims of Domestic Violence. Regularly seeing advertisements for women in violent relationships led me to want to talk about the male side of this and how there is very limited help for men who struggle to come forward to speak out about the violence. My project consisted of a series of posters which can be used separately or as a series. When put together each poster tell a subtle story of the lead up to violence. Poster one says “First your heart” indicating that they have gained your trust, your love and your affection. Poster 2, which says “First your heart, next your mind” this indicates that now they have started to put you down mentally, have started calling you names and really taken control of your mind. The last poster shows that the violence has now happened with “Now your wrist”
