Musician Costume Design and Rendering
A Christmas Carol
University of Idaho Theater Department Fall 2014

Design and Rendering by Lauren Brashear
Final Product by Christy Beery

As an assistant designer for The University of Idaho's 2014 production of A Christmas Carol, I was responsible for costuming several "Roustabouts" (costumed stagehands) as well as designing an original custom costume for one of four Musicians. These Musicians served as story-tellers in the narrative of the play, and therefore needed somewhat period-accurate costumes without being restricted by something like a corset. My design features clean lines and an overall masculine style with small feminine details, and is assembled as a single bodice piece with a skirt.
