Creative Rationale:

We have been given the brief to refine one of our previous Visual Communication Projects during our third year, for this brief I have decided to refine a project that I did for a Pecha Kucha Drop In as a Collaboration with Marie Cavanna.

I have decided to change the layout of the and the colours throughout the poster we designed together titled: The Struggle.  I changed the layout of the illustration to let the illustrated hand reach downward towards the bottom of the page to resemble a hand that has fallen.  The illustration was done to signify the Fees Must Fall topic that the Pecha Kucha will be focusing on at the event as it is a relevant topic that has stirred different emotions and debates throughout the community as well as the country.

I changed the colour to a peachy pink as it is a very popular colour, one of the Pantone colours being rose-quartz which is very similar in its shade and tone.  This colour is also very eye catching and will allow the illustration to stand out more than before, as it allows for the imagery and graphics to be more lateral in a sense as compared to before. I changed the colour of the stroke around the bone to yellow as it makes the flesh seem a bit more realistic than the previous blue. I changed the colour of the Boiler to resonate with the poster colours in terms of colour harmony and made use of darker monochromatic shade of the same colour to help stand out from the background, making use of white in the typography of the boiler to give the image depth and not fall flat on the poster.
