This animation was done for a class at SCAD Atlanta. The assignment was to choose a spoken word piece/song and animate the typography without changing the type in any way. No key frames on the type were allowed, so only camera moves were used. Animation and modeling was all done in Cinema 4D and compositing was done in Adobe After Effects.

The audio comes from the Lyle Lovett song "Here I Am" and is used for educational purposes under Fair Use. No profit was gained by its use.

This project was to explore serial typography using an audio clip, spoken word, film or television quote, or song lyric. The text itself was to have no key frames and could not be manipulated in any way. All of the voice over was to be visualized by text, but we were allowed to add imagery, video, or abstract backgrounds if we wanted.

I took my inspiration from the kinetic typography piece by Jacob Gilbreath based on Conan O'Brien's farewell speech from The Tonight Show on NBC. In particular, I wanted to utilize 3D shapes and extruded text along with a simple continuous camera move.
