Paradise Bay - Desktopography 2016

Paradise Bay is my second submission to the Desktopography 2016 release.
It's always such an honour to have my work featured alongside so many other talented artists, designers, and creators.

Paradise Bay was inspired by a trip I took to Mexico in April 2016. I took some great photos of the pyramid at Chichen Itza, as well as the ruins and the beach at Tulum, and I wanted to use them in some sort of digital artwork. Desktopography provided the perfect venue. I took some serious artistic license, crafting a world where new and old, modern and ancient stand side by side. Where the water is as blue as the sky, and equally clear. Where the moon stands watch as man and nature peacefully coexist.

This is Paradise Bay.
Here's a bit of a "walkthrough" of my process creating this piece.
