Client. "The Killers", is an American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001, by Brandon Flowers and Dave Keuning. The Killers are seen as one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century, and the most successful rock act to ever emerge from the state of Nevada, having sold an estimated 22 million albums worldwide. They have achieved worldwide success as a live band, performing in over fifty countries and on six continents, headlining venues such as Madison Square Garden and Wembley Stadium.
Brief. Illustrate cover art for 10 different The Killers' single in one style, reflecting the mood of a song, taking into consideration names and lyrics.
Concept. The main idea that goes through all illustrations is to show the mood of a song involving images of human skin, flesh and appearance of a human. Thus, we wanted to show that The Killers's songs and their meanings are "passing through your body" while you are listening to them, going "under you skin" to show their unreal heartfeltness. There are a few rules, that we've been following. First of all, To limit active palette up to three colors - black, white, red. Secondly, we have started illustrating a certain song only when we knew it by heart, to get the right mood for an image.
