In March of 2012 the Lancaster Quilt and Textile Museum displayed all of the quilts that are part of it's ESPRIT quilt collection. This was the first time this collection had been displayed together since the 1990's. The graphic quilts were originally part of an innovative display and collection belonging to the ESPRIT corporation. The quilts were all made by Amish women working in the late 19th and early 20th century. This particular exhibition was held specifically to generate interest and to fundraise for an endowment for the quilts. My challenge was to provide a visual experience that captured the impact of the quilts without creating an environment that would overwhelm the viewer.
