Bookshelf is a method for creating visual comparisons between narratives and can be used in poster and book cover design as well as in other kinds of indexing. All visual translations are derived from a single strand of code.

A drawn square represents a single mention of color within a particular passage, arranged in order from beginning to end. The resulting composition is a matrix of colored squares. When viewed as one image, these blocks of color paint and reveal previously invisible patterns which can be universally understood, superseding language barriers.
