This is a caricature of country singer and actress, Dolly Parton. I emphasized her hair, lips and cheek bones because those are her most prominent features. I chose to make the cheek bones very round rather than pointy because the roundness creates a happy or jolly look. I chose to use very thick lines for the outline of her jacket as well as parts of her hair, because it adds variety to the width of lines. For the background I used an almost neon purple because Dolly Parton is very exuberant. I find that both the bold purple for the background and pink for the lips coincide her uncanny resemblance to a Barbie. I chose a more pastel yellow for her hair to play up other features (i.e. her facial features). In the reference photo, her jacket is white, instead I made a design choice to color it as a soft grey to be subtle. Overall, this project was fun and I hope to practice this style more often.
