Sick Girls is the product of a sick society which was born, grows and becomes strong with the fears and the awkwardness that attack the world population, fomenting the cult of the beauty and perfection. The stereotype of the body bumps everyday into the “normality” of the people, who lives an imaginary life trying to project themselves in an unreal world, where they aspire to be better than everyone else putting their own existence at risk, and their own “have” above all. Contemplating the beauty we put ourselves in front of a sense of anxiety and emptiness, filling ourselves with agony, wishing to be someone else. At the same time we lost the confidence (in ourselves) too, watching the beauty model that the society are showing us everyday.
Playing to be a surgeon, mixing, trying to create the perfection and then the unreal, basing on the models who the mass-media propose us with absolut indifference. Something improbable, that transforms the girls of this project in sick girls without a soul.
