From 1 February 2006 till 1 June 2006 I, along with 5 other students, worked for the company Steco. We had to come up with a new product. After a few creative sessions we came up with the idea for a love seat for a bicycle. This seat would give more comfort to those who sit on the luggage rack of a bicycle. In the Netherlands lots of people make use of this way of traveling, therefore we thought there would be a market for such a product.

First I made a couple of prototypes out of foam to get an idea of what the seat would look like. After that I designed the seat in SolidWorks. This SolidWorks file was later sent to a company who would make us a prototype out of ABS. Two people of our project group (I was one of them) used this prototype to create a mold out of silicon. With this mold, we created 10 prototypes with the vacuum molding technique. The project was a success and the company Steco was extremely satisfied.
