Photos below is exact realization of design concept of a room for a small boy.
Goal was to design comfortable, interactive, multi level room for a little boy of 1 year old. According to a plan of his parents he will live in this room till the age of 5. Later room will be renovated. Main request from the parents was "London", which I included using several instruments: few wallpaper with London (choice of client), wooden box for toys (decorated with flag), telephone booth sticker on the door, colors (blue, white, red). Also another topic/frame of this room is "house", that why I have choice simple bed, chalkboard in a shape of house.
Main asset from my side was to create comfortable and eco-friendly environment for little boy. I decided to focus on wood textures (bed, table, chairs, rock climbing zone, toys are made of wood). IKEA garderobe fits the room in a comfortable way in terms of design and usage.
Rock climbing zone and chalkboard are handmade. Toys, bed, table and chairs are also handmade by Russian artisans from different cities.
Following Montessori advice we have low-level bed, small real furniture, carpets for game playing, shelves to keep toys and books, which can be easily reached by kid, mirror on a level of eye of a kid. Sport corner is well used by kid now and is really useful to develop new skills.
