Two cities in contrast:
Must be something about the weather...
Must be something about the weather...
I've been to Eastern Europe twice so far: the first time, when Prague still held tight to its Kafkaesque malaise; the second, shortly after the emergence of the discotheques and the Staroměstská as an outdoor concert hall. I'd post pictures of the former state, were that camera not a rusted slag heap on the bottom of the Kinneret (or Sea of Galilee).
That aside, there's a remarkable depth of character to Prague's many (and irregular) byways; Vienna, by contrast, still retains an imperial air, as evidenced by the locals and their fiercely protective devotion to the Wienerwald.
The weather, however, and what it chooses to highlight, is something the two cities share in equal measure.

More to come...
