Rethinking the Modern Office

Challenge
Office work has changed radically in the last 15 years. New technologies, evolving behaviors, and changing corporate expectations have transformed the spaces we call offices and the furniture we use. HON and its division Allsteel asked BOLTGROUP to envision new furniture products to fulfill the needs of workers in this new office reality.
Solution
We created advanced product concepts—creating a 5-year road map for future innovations. Products included rethinking storage in the office, providing furniture for the continuum between collaboration and concentration, and considering issues like personalized air quality and lighting. We also designed products to meet current needs including the Tercero family of conference room furniture.
Result
Tercero was a great success, with strong sales in all of HON’s channels, and winning the ADEX Gold Award for Design Excellence in Office Furniture and Architectural Products.
