The Thing in Yellow

A supernatural being often depicted as a deity, Hastur first appeared in Ambrose Bierce's short story Haïta the Shepherd in 1893 as a god of shepherds. Later the character was incorporated into H. P. Lovecraft's work as a part of the author's Cthulhu Mythos as a member of his ancient and alien eldritch gods.
