This print was created as a riff on a traditional Toile de Jouy, where I drew figures from character studies that get contextualized through native Miami foliage.

In this collection layering of color in different ways is explored in order to add dimension to a traditionally flat print.  The Blue and Green color scheme is created by layering yellow on blue and then blue on top of yellow while adding pigment strategically throughout pulls. The Red, Brown and Purple print was achieved layering yellow, red and blue in different orders and mixing in more pigment after each pull.
