Shades of Gray is De La Salle College of Saint Benilde’s official literary folio. The publication, released once every school year, provides a venue for Benildeans with an interest in the literary arts to showcase their talents by presenting their creative work in a refreshing and innovative format.

Gaze not unto the moon for fear of
seeing it blink.
Hear not the demonic cacophony that
lurks beneath your sink.

Crash first, then burn.
If left undone then who am I
The climax should be spectacular
The smoke of my ashes shall rise high
When my smile is free of care and burden
A new notch, inflicted unto my wall
A collapse which is brief but powerful
The strike of the chisel must do nicely

Back bent from rehearsed defenses
The arms that wield my shields, quivering
Too long for comfort

My mind is yelling timber
A decade too long without a trace of tragedy

To realize that no it's not life who wasted on me
But I who wasted life waiting in terror
For the gut-wrenching terror
