My take on the iconic Half Dome - processed for B+W in Lightroom.
Below Bridal Veil.
Hiking up the Valley, I looked back at Bridal Veil falls and saw a strange red color in the mist - at first I thought it was a fire. But as we stood and watched, I realized it was the sun refracting in the spray. Over the next few minutes the rainbow effect climbed higher and higher into the falls and I took a series of images. This is my favorite from that series.
I was still learning my new 5D Mark II at the time, and here I pushed the camera to its limits to get a shot of the climbers on El Capitan, with the stars dancing above. This is a single exposure, no layering or bracketing was used.
A near dark shot of Upper and Lower Yosemite Falls, just catching the last rays of light from the setting sun dancing across the top of the ridge.
Yosemite Sunset.
