Overview
I was brought on by Favorite Medium to help meet their delivery deadline for an extensive Android and iOS mobile app that consisted of 295 UI screens. I worked closely with the Associate Creative Director who was able to provide me with minimal instruction and full autonomy as a senior designer. Very limited information regarding this mobile app can be shared publicly at this time. Samples are only available in-person for now.

Afterward, the client decided they wanted an online style guide for their suite of mobile products. With minimal direction, I took the Associate Creative Director’s preliminary concepts and completed the project. We provided the client with a 40-page, responsive website.

Then they wanted to promote one of their premier mobile apps by adding carousels, pages, and banner ads to their marketing websites worldwide. For this project I lead design from beginning to completion.

Process
For the mobile app, one of my tasks was to make changes requested by the client, based on user testing, to existing screens using Sketch. All of the screens were uploaded to InVision, which was used mostly as a repository and a means for communication. I was also tasked with designing new screens and providing production work, and I lead the conversion of the Android app to an iOS version. All screens were created to spec and we designed based on Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines where we deemed necessary. I created specs and exported image assets for different screen resolutions—five for Android and three for iOS. I communicated instructions for development via Unfuddle. Favorite Medium developers in Asia built the Android APK up to a certain point. I provided a QA review of the developers’ work for all of the screens I was tasked with. I also updated style guides and sitemaps ongoing.

For the style guide website, each page was designed using Sketch and uploaded to InVision for comments. The client provided copy via Google Docs and in some cases I edited the copy for consistency and wrote original copy for certain pages. I provided the developers with assets and direction for each page, and oversaw their work.

For the marketing websites, I designed everything in English, using Photoshop so that other designers around the globe could update content for their country and language. I was the main, direct contact for the client. We also built the carousels and pages I designed so other countries would have HTML to refer to. I oversaw the development.
