E3 Greentech Smart Strip

The E3 Greentech Smart Strip was designed in 2010 and produced in 2011. This device measured energy consumption in real time of each outlet independently, an industry first at the time. In addition to the energy consumption data each smart outlet was equipped with advanced sensor array that allowed the outlet to read the Temperature, Light Level (Photons) and an IR based occupancy sensor. Readings from all 4 inputs were sent in real time via Zigbee wireless to a Gateway device (E3 Greentech Intelligent Bridge) and were then relayed back to a cloud computing platform (IROM Cloud) via the XMPP protocol.

When used in conjunction with the E3 Greentech HEMS system, the Smart Strip would reduce your energy consumption by as much as 15%.

As Chief Technology Officer of E3 Greentech at the time, I envisioned, documented, architected and manufactured this product from bar napkin to field deployments for the entire first revision cycle.

This product won multiple awards including Top Utility Technology of 2010.
