Photo d'un crapaud commun accompagné de sa feuille. Le crapaud commun (fort répandu en Europe) est considéré comme le plus long amphibien du continent (il peut atteindre jusqu'à plus de 110 mm de long chez la femelle). Le crapaud commun est facilement reconnaissable à son dos parsemé de verrues qui sécrètent un poison crémeux censé le protéger contre les prédateurs. Les deux grosses protubérances situées juste derrière sa tête son des glandes à venin.
