Positive Living BC is Western Canada's largest HIV/AIDS service organization. Located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Positive Living has a long and rich history dating back to the society's founding in 1986. 2016 is the society's 30th anniversary.
The History Alive project is an attempt to capture first hand stories and personal history on video or in pictures and sound from some of the society's key members and leaders. Since 2009, we have successfully captured invaluable insight from people who have since passed on. Some of the material is irreplaceable.
This project details the development of a video brand designed specifically for this timely project.

The primary font, Interstate, available in 8 weights and three widths, was chosen when the society last rebranded and will be used here for the society logo and for all intro, lower thirds and outro text. The font Cinzel and it's alternate decorative form were chosen for the History Alive ID.
The colour palette is sourced from the logo and is shown here with two additional shades of the primary red.
The logo bug will be used over all original materials. The logo is composited onto the video layer using Linear Light mode. This test confirms the logo is visible over varying ranges of colour and brightness. Video samples courtesy Pond5. Audio created in SonicFire Pro.
The next segment is the central theme of the intro video. The original concept came from a Video Copilot SD sample template. The final version will be 1080p, uses the above palette and materials from Positive Living's extensive photo archive.
