THAI Airways 50th Anniversary Collectibles
Produced for LOWE & Partners Thailand
Initially created as part an Annual Calendar pitch, the design of THAI Airways scarf was later commissioned as an on-board premium for Business and First Class passengers to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Although once traditional cabin-crew wear, the scarf is now reminiscent of the golden era of flying. We used this nostalgic medium in commemoration of THAI Airways’ inaugural flights to global destinations. Each scarf is illustrated in a style synonymous with the destination, using destination specific icons and colours to enhance memorability. The THAI Airways emblem is placed at each corner of the scarf representing our flight to all ‘four corners of the world’.
A kingdom finds its wings
Thai kites, famous for their unusual shape, represent the dream of Thais to fly above the sky. The scene of kites flying above The Grand Palace in Bangkok is common to Thais, and tourists who visit Thailand during summer.
Imperial Illuminations
Mount Fuji, avenues of cherry blossoms in bloom and traditional Geisha are unique to Japan, and they are the reasons why so many are drawn to this fascinating destination.
The city of light
A view of the Paris skyline from the river Seine and people kissing in the park captures the myth of this “City of Love”. Illustrated in pastel-coloured watercolour, the style enhances the feeling of dreamy-romance.
All the way Down Under
The iconic Sydney Opera House is brought to life with Aboriginal inspired design elements: earthy tones, burnt orange hues and ‘dot’ motifs.
Hollywood Dreams
Los Angeles is idealised due to its glamorous film industry: opening-night spotlights, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and iconic art deco architecture that harks back to the golden age in cinema.

The Four Ladies Statue standing at the beginning of Hollywood Boulevard inspired this design. The art deco steel statue represents the four iconic actresses who changed the history of Hollywood.
