The Longest Fully Accessible Trails Network In America
Winner: Best Short Documentary Film SNOB (Somewhat North of Boston) Film Festival, 2012
Introducing the longest fully accessible trails in a mountain environment in the country. Beyond their simple length (over four miles), they are engineering wonders as they work with the contours, land formations and water flows found on a mountainside in New Hampshire.
The trails are beautiful, blending in with the landscape as if they were always here but with a surprise around every corner. They are also educational, as interpretive guides share information about the life of a forest and an abandoned beaver pond and the names of distant mountains. Stories are told by stone walls left behind by farmers two centuries ago, and boulders left by glaciers from distant millennia.
The trails are here for everyone, from the clients of Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center to visitors from near and far, who will come to experience these trails and be inspired and perhaps learn to see the world a little differently.
