Protector of Almdalir.
The monthly Character Design Challenge had in its 14th challenge the theme of "Viking". The challenge was held from the 7th of February 2016 to the 2nd of March 2016.
The theme's description was as follows:
"The remote village of Almdalir is one of the legendary harbours of a fearless breed of warriors and sailors: the Vikings! From this spot, its inhabitants sail the cold Northern Sea towards the unknown.
The ones who make it back home bring with them stories of terrifying encounters with dragons, giants, gods and abominable sea monsters.."

Pencil Design of the second version; adjusting the pose, maintaining the sketchy-outlines to add to the mood of the character, and adjusting his position to give the feeling that the paper can barely contain his height; even when he's kneeling.

Meet Arne the Watcher. He is considered the best protector of his village, Almdalir. Arne is renowned for his towering stature, his untrammeled vision, and his masterful combat skills; particularly with melee weapons. With these attributes, Arne the Watcher is never afraid in leading the offense in protecting his village against hordes of demonic creatures trying to invade his home.
