Typography
Saturday Sessions
D&AD 2012
This is my entry for D&AD 2012. The brief was to produce a set of three typographically-focused A2 outdoor posters (landscape or portrait) that act as a three month advertising campaign for Ministry of Sound’s iconic London event ‘Saturday Sessions’.
Concept

Sampling is an act of taking parts of songs and sounds, and reproducing it into a totally new music. It is a culture that is started and cultivated by electronic musicians. In fact, DJ exists because of the idea of manipulating sounds in vinyl and playing it live.

A series of posters with typography installation in the main point of interest were made based on that notion. Each word was built around music players, sound systems, speakers, and objects that were familiar in the club. The initial idea was to ‘sample’ real objects to form a word.
