Based in San Francisco, Josh Gibson, MD, has treated patients through his private psychiatry practice since 2002. Complementing his work, Josh Gibson, MD, maintains memberships with a number of professional associations, such as the Academy of Organizational and Occupational Psychiatry (AOOP).
Over the course of nearly three decades, AOOP has worked to support its members and the wider organizational and occupational psychiatric community. The academy primarily serves its members by facilitating a number of events that provide networking and skill-based educational opportunities. One such event is its Annual Meeting, which most recently continued its yearly tradition in 2016.
From April 15 to 17, organizational and occupational psychiatrists gathered for the Annual Meeting at the University Club of Chicago. Entitled “Where There’s Smoke, There’s Fire; How Individual Problems Reflect Workplace Function,” the event featured a number of forums on such topics as the psychodynamic foundations of prejudice and how to create organizational integration. Sponsored by the University of Iowa, the Annual Meeting also allowed attendees to earn up to 13.25 continuing education credits for their participation in the event's various seminars.
