The Macleay Museum located at University of Sydney is home to the oldest natural history collection in Australia. It consists of hundreds of objects and specimens from all over the world ranging from Cuba to Wagga Wagga. This is a series of postcards that I designed for the museum itself.
The illustrations were created using a dip pen, various sized nibs and japanese calligraphy ink. The decsion to use calligraphy ink meant that I could blend the ink using a wet brush, producing a better texture for fur, scales, skin and feathers. The illustrations were later enhanced further on photoshop to bring out a more richer dark tone.
