Personal Project

Rabbits is an ongoing self directed project. With an avid passion for street art, there is a bubbling interest to find less destructive art forms to spread my name within Sydney’s streets.  Inspired by the metaphor in Shaun Tan’s picturebook “The Rabbits”, this project carries across the use of rabbits as a conquesting invader. Street art back in the early 1980’s was used as a form of gang territorial claim. This project combines both these ideas to present my own identity within the urban landscape.
Initially screen printed, the choice of material came from an adoration of big paste up names such as Brooklyn Based Swoon, Shepard Fairy and French  artist Blek Le Rat, who all use their unique style to create graphic and witty social examinations and commentaries.  The work is temporal, often taken down as garbage or taken away as a keep sake by pasers by. So if you see one, feel free to take one!
