Este ano inaugurou um restaurante temático com o conceito de taverna medieval ambientada na Inglaterra do século X, um lugar fantástico com comidas maravilhosas! Mas o cardápio deles não fora desenvolvido por um profissional até então, de baixa legibilidade (principalmente no ambiente escuro do restaurante) e design inadequado, o que prejudicava muito a experiência dos clientes, como pode ser visto abaixo.
This year opened a thematic restaurant with a medieval tavern concept set up in 10th century's England, a fantastic place with wonderful food! But their menu wasn't developed by a professional up to then, featuring bad readability (worse in the dark restaurant) and inadequate design, what damaged quite a lot the customers' experience, as it can be seen below.

Logo fui buscar imagens de livros e escrituras da região no período do século X e acabei me deparando com um padrão decorativo relativamente comum, usando desenhos celtas bem populares até hoje nas bordas. Foram as seguintes imagens basicamente que usei como modelo.

E aqui segue a versão final do cardápio, ainda com as letras tipicamente medievais, bordas celtas e boa legibilidade (fiz o teste com cerca de 5 fontes diferentes na taverna até a staff votar na mais fácil de ler). Também melhorei a distribuição dos itens oferecidos no restaurante - os originais tinham 4 páginas, enquanto este tem 7 - e adicionei elementos clássicos no meio.
Devido ao alto número de estrangeiros frequentando o local, o novo cardápio foi feito em 3 idiomas diferentes: português do Brasil, inglês (com bastante base no britânico, que remete melhor ao conceito) e espanhol (com mais ênfase na região do México). Eu mesma escrevi as três versões, embora meu espanhol esteja bem enferrujado e foi a versão que passou por uma revisão mais extensa com um contato mexicano (por isso a regionalidade do idioma).

And here goes the final version, still with the typically medieval lettering, Celtic borders and good readability (I tested about 5 different fonts in the tavern until the staff voted the easiest one to read). I also improved the distribution of the items offered on the establishment - the original had 4 pages while this one has 7 - and added classical elements in-between.
Given the high number os foreigners frequenting the place, the new menu was developed in 3 different languages: Brazilian Portuguese, English (with heavy base on the British, which connects better to the overall concept) and Spanish (of greater Mexican influence). The three versions were written by myself, though my Spanish is quite rusty and that's the version that went a longer reviewing process by a Mexican contact (that's the reason for the influence).
