SALO

According to market research, women – young, old, single, married, and widowed, are fuelling an explosive growth
in the travel industry. SALO is a non-profit organization that provides information about women who travel alone.
We want to ensure that their travel will be safe and satisfying. Our organization wants to encourage women to prepare for and deal with unfortunate situations whether it be accidents, losing things, or being attacked.

// DELIVERABLES //

[ Brand Posters ]

The intention of my poster series was to encourage women traveling alone
that they should be prepared before traveling to ensure safety when
traveling. I also wanted to help them if they are in trouble during the trip.
[ Mobile Application ]

The goal of making the mobile application is to make their families and friends feel the guarantee of safety
while a woman is traveling alone. In the case of an emergency without internet and the family can’t reach you,
they can track your latest location from your latest check-in, photo and voice record that you’ve posted.
– Welcome Part –

After filling in infor mation, the application will show navigation of how to use each menu icon to interact with the application.
Users need to scan their fingerprint every time when they want to enter this application in order to protect their personal information.

– Create New Journey –

It has three ways to start a journey, which are check-in, take a photo, voice record.
At the end of creating a journey, users are able to share their journey information through social media,
such as SALO photo album, Facebook, twitter, flickr and tumblr.

– Journey History –

After users are finished creating a journey, the story will be saved at this part.
Users can go back to edit, watch and share to the person whenever they want.

– Emergency Button –

The main purpose of this button is to share tracking location to your emergency contact in just
a few taps. The latest journey story will be sent to the emergency contact immediately. Users also can use
this button to call the police, and all tracking will be reported to the shelter as well.

– Safety Service –

Safety service buttons are separated into three categories. First, the safety product educates the user about SALO products.
Second, the hotel information uses location to discover the perfect nearby hotel. Users can call directly to the hotel from the app.
Third, public transportation will give information about transportation in each area in the country that users choose.

– Shelter Location –

According to shelter service, our application uses the recent location of users to find
a shelter service and provide information about each shelter.

[ Shelter Environment ]

This shelter will help travelers handle a bad situation, such as inform them what should they
do after facing with an unpredictable situation. SALO’s shelter is open twenty-four hours
and someone is standing by and willing to give advice about traveling information for women.

[ Safety Kit Product ]

Our purpose of creating innovative products is to reduce sexual assaults toward women traveling alone.

– SALO Case iPhone –

Our case has an emergency slot to keep an extra credit card or emergency money when travelers fall into a difficult
situation. Travelers have to scan their fingerprint through the SALO application to open the back case of the iPhone.
The SALO case also has a smart button located beside the case. If travelers press the button more than three times, the
emergency signal will be sent to the SALO shelter. The officer can track their location and will report to the police station.
It’s a quick way to ask for help when they are faced with an unpredictable situation

– SALO Accessory –

SALO accessory can sync wifi with a smartphone to track a traveler’s current location. In the case of forgetting
or missing the smartphone, just press two times on the button, and the smartphone will start making a loud pinging sound, and at
the same time the accessory screen will show the location of the smartphone. In addition, pressing more than three times will
send an emergency signal to the SALO shelter, the officer will immediately call back to check the safety of travelers.
