Will y Charlie nacen de la observación y la resolución de un problema cotidiano, ambos son instrumentos para abrir botellas de rosca, tarros, chapas y latas. Este proyecto está destinado a un público con movilidad reducida, pero… ¿A quién no le ha resultado costosa esta tarea?, Will Y Charlie es un “diseño para todos”. Su estudio ergonómico desde que surge la idea le hace totalmente funcional en su trabajo, pero no es el típico objeto que encontraremos en una ortopedia por mucho que su categoría sea esa, Will y Charlie tienen personalidad y carisma propios, haciendo de un objeto serio y práctico, algo divertido y único que tener.
Además de todo lo anterior, tanto Will como Charlie han conseguido el certificado plata de “Cradle to Cradle” y “Greenguard” siendo un objeto totalmente reciclable y biodegradable, incluyendo el packaging, ayudando no solo a las personas, también al planeta.

Will and Charlie were created to resolve an everyday problem, both being tools fowl with the purpose of opening bottles, jars and tins. This project is aimed at a reduced mobility target audience but… Who hasn’t found this a difficult task at some point in their life?
Will and Charlie are “design for everyone”. Will and Charlie were born from an ergonomic study with functionality being the primary goal, but they aren’t the type of device one might find in an orthopedic aids store, although they hull under this category. Will and Charlie have their own personality and charisma, turning a practical and serious object into something fun and unique.

Will y Charlie se componen de una estructura rígida (ciclo técnico) esta se lleva a una ubicación concreta. En esta ubicación, la fábrica encomendada de su fabricación (Basf) se encarga de reciclar el material, transformándolo en el mismo objeto o en otro con mejores prestaciones.Will y Charlie también se componen de un material antideslizante con menor vida útil (ciclo biológico) este material se empieza a descomponer en cuestión de 5 años y proporciona nutrientes a la tierra. Puede ser utilizado para alimentar a tu huerto personal.Las uniones de estas dos partes no contienen ningún tipo de adhesivos, esto permite una mayor facilidad de reciclaje y una perduración del objeto, gracias a la posibilidad de remplazar la pieza dañada. Todo el producto desde el objeto hasta el packaging, se basa en la filosofía Cradle to cradle, siendo de los pocos productos que se puede reciclar al 100% sin generar residuos y manteniendo las mismas características, además de devolver a la naturaleza la materia prima que ella nos proporciona.
Each piece is made of two different materials, each with a different lifespan. Both Will and Charlie are made with a rigid structure (technical cycle). At the end of their useable lifespan, the structure will be sent to a recycling centre within the factory was made in. In this factory, entrusted with their production (Basf) they will recycle the material, transforming it into the same object or into another with a higher specification.
Will and Charlie are also composed of a non-slip material with a shorter lifespan (biological cycle). The material will decompose naturally within 5 years and provide nutrients to the Earth. It can be used to enrich the soil in your vegetable patch.
The two parts are joined without the use of adhesive allowing ease of recycling and a hunger product lifespan, thanks to the ability to replace the damaged part.
With respect to the construction systems, the pieces are made using two moulds, reducing the costs of large scale production. Furthermore, the design and construction of these objects are low energy consuming, respectful of the environment. They are a non-contaminating and use reclaimed materials, funded by state aid.
