Prototype T-shirt designs I did for the Chinese Student Association at Virginia Commonwealth University. The design was inspired by a Chinese artist Xu Bing's Square Word Calligraphy font. It's all in English and it reads vertically, "Chinese Student Association".
A simple graphic image design of the ticket for a potluck event for the Chinese Student Association.
The project is to combine both image and type in the composition. Type dominant over image.

I used the Chinese characters " 蝴蝶 " which means butterfly as the design of the wings and the body of the buttfly as the image. The way I drew the wings matches the design of the body of the butterfly which pulls the image and type together as a whole.
Another variation of the image and type project I did. Only this time, the image is the dominant element in the composition rather than the type.
A logo design for a small plumming company called " Smart Snake "

Smart Snake is a plumming tool used for drain cleaning purpose. It combines the light and a camera on the tip of the drain cable. Which I incorporated in the logo design as the yellow eye of the snake.
A logo design I made for a friend.

The business is called " Hott Shotz " it's a small photo booth company. He wanted to incorporate the photo booth that he's using for the business, so I thought it would make a very eye-catching logo if I use the 3/4 point of view of the photo booth to create a very iconic and strong logo.
A logo design I created for myself.

It's a combination of my initials: S.Y.C. The shape of the logo resembles the Chinese character “馬 “ which means horse. Since I was born on the year of the horse, I decided to include that treat into my own logo, because it associates who I am.
