This illustration was developed for an exhibition titled 'Repeating patterns'. The exhibition was based on the concept of pairing aeach artwork with a specially developed food based component. The illustration was developed and in response a chef developed a canopé that served to translate what could be seen in the artwork into an arrangement of flavours. The illustration presents a scene from a fictitious narrative in which a 'beast of appetite' aims to grow taller and taller in order to reach the ultimate flavours of the heavens which are omitted through a hole in the sky. The beast extends its tongue in order to reach. This also presents the anticipation and elevated apetite one might expereince as a meal is presented.
