Open commons are digital resources that are free and publicly accessible. The task of OPEN COMMONS LINZ is to make such digital content accessible in a responsible manner. The visual identity for the Open Commons Initiative of the City of Linz thus functions according to the principle of open design.
The identity consists of a modular construction system for pictographs and a compatibly developed modular font (typeface designed in collaboration with Igor Labudovic) that have unrestricted usability. As such, the majority of applications can be designed by users themselves.
The use, reproduction, alteration, or adaptation of the digital resources is expressly allowed.
