Dans cette émouvante mise en théâtre du destin d’Anne Frank, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt montre par de petits détails quotidiens toute l’abjection du génocide des Juifs par les nazis, et amplifie son propos en poursuivant sa réflexion — après Freud, Mozart et Diderot — sur le rôle des génies comme révélateurs des forces cachées sous les apparences.

In this stage production by Lorraine Pintal for the TNM, the diary writings of Anne Frank are adapted by the French writer Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt.

One of the best-known authors in the French-speaking world, Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt was the natural choice to craft a French-language play based on the story of Anne Frank. His attention to detail vividly brings to life the horrors of the Nazi regime and the Holocaust. Through the added lens of the luminaries Freud, Mozart and Diderot, Schmitt also expresses hidden deeper truths that become revealed under extreme circumstances.

À travers une mise en scène sobre et puissante, Lorraine Pintal fait revivre les personnages du célèbre Journal. Cette fois, c’est à travers les yeux d’Otto Frank, le père d’Anne, que l’on revisite cette tragique histoire. La trame sonore confectionnée par Jorane mêlée aux projections de notre équipe ont su ajouter avec justesse impeccable une dimension supplémentaire à cette œuvre tragique. La présence d'Anne Frank a été amplifiée par des enregistrements sonores et d'impressionnantes projections de scènes de guerre, d'images des camps de concentration et des trains de la déportation.

Through understated yet powerful staging, Lorraine Pintal revives the characters of the famous diary. This time, it is through the eyes of Otto Frank, Anne's father, that we revisit this famous story. The soundtrack by Jorane mixed with our team’s projections added, with impeccable accuracy, a deeper dimension to this tragedy. Anne Frank's presence was amplified by sound recordings and striking, dramatic projections of war scene images, concentration camps and deportation trains.
