Teatrando #5
This poster is a chair, no, this posters are a lot of chairs with five legs, a mouth, an eye… this chairs ara not chairs, this chairs are chacteres who can be happy, sad, be surpise and all the things theatre make you feel.

For the 5 year we were invited to develop the graphic imagen for the International Meeting of Theatre - Tetrando. The challenge was simple: make a funny poster where young children would recognize the energy and the power of the story telling in theatre.

So, we didn’t had a theme, we just had a kind of concept and we had to find a way to make that visually. We really wanted to work with some kind of cliché image, something every people will recognized it but in the same way we could change it to a character. Why a character? We understood the necessity the people had to see some kind of friendly face, something that could talk to them if necessary. After a brain-storming we define the chair like the “cliché” object. The chairs is definitely the object who have the personality of the theatre, the one that can laugh, cry, smile.  So, just using an eye and a mouth we could transform that static object in a friendly character with a lot of energy and things to say to the public. Evan changing just a little bit of those elements (eye and mouth) we could change the personality of the chair to translate the different reactions of someone who are watching a play. The theatre is nothing without the audience, and the audience is all about chairs!
