Delve Into Yellowstone

The goal for this project was to create the beginnings of an app that allows users to delve into the wonders of Yellowstone National Park, home to the largest concentration of wildlife in the contiguous 48 states. The app needed to be in line with the National Park Service’s mission, to “[preserve] unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations," while pleasantly surprising the users with the joys of nature.
With different habitats to choose from and an unknown selection of wildlife to be found, the user comes onto the app and is pleasantly surprised as they come across the animals as they randomly appear at different areas of the park.
Shown above, a time responsive feature of the app– so if the user goes on the app in the morning, it’s dawn and the sounds and animal activity reflects that, through a night landscape with nocturnal creatures.
The key habitat illustration for this walk through– Lamar Valley, home to an abundance of animals and varied landscape.
