Every senior in my school’s design program takes part in a group senior show, and mine included two artist and two designers with remarkably different styles. Our challenge was to create identity and promotional materials that somehow unified these varied styles.
My solution was a black and white composition with iconography that represented aspects of each maker’s individual style and personality along with tools of our respective trades. The result is bold and geometric but also playful.
We called the show “In the Making”, which has a double meaning because the show was about the act of making, but it was also a collection put together by four students with careers that were just beginning to be made.
The project won best of show at the SDSU juried competition, best of show at the local ADDYs, and a regional Addy.
