I started this project when I found this skimboard.
My goal was to transform it into a cool longboard.
I then added the trucks to test it out (it looks pretty fun).
After cutting and varnishing, I ended up with a thin, large and flexible board. I'm using 10mm 3d printed custom pads to mount the 180mm trucks (Paris v2) and 70mm wheels (Orangatang Balut).
I first wanted to add grip to the top but I realized i doesn't need any grip because of it is large and flexible. Furthermore, without grip it can be used barefoot for a surfing experience.
I'm really happy with the result, looks rad and works great!
