MASTERS WORKSHOP - Tent Design : TRENDA

This was a Domus Academy group workshop in collaboration with Ferrino. We were asked to design a TENTative structure. Thinking about tents nowadays we came up with an idea for a new camping experience: TRENDA.
Trenda came to be a cross disciplinary project mixing business design, interactive design, visual brand, product and interior design. TRANSFORMING THE HUMAN SCALE INTO A LIVING SPACE. Sharing and connecting the individual with the collective. To represent the individual we designed a Poncho and for the collective we designed a structure that when combined form a new shelter and, within it, a community. The overall idea is that you only need one Poncho to build your own shelter. The designed structure will be placed in several camping sites so that when you buy the Poncho, through a mobile application, you get information about locations and friends going there so if you form a community of friends for your camping experience you can arrive to the located available structure, each one with its Poncho and form different spatial configurations were your camping experience will begin. The modulation of the structure makes it easy to be produced and managed by camping sites managers.

Also Trenda as a design idea is flexible enough to be adapted to other uses rather than just camping. We thought about concert venues with provided camping areas, park picnics or gatherings, advertisement, exhibitions/ installations, launchings of new products and even refugee camps were each refugee will be provided with a Poncho so that whenever they leave the shelter they can take a part of it with them.
.
With this project we got to the Top 3 for the 2016 Marrakech Biennale.
Sempione Park, Milano.
Desert, Marrakech.
