Business Processes

Business Processes are crucial for the business to perform at a high level of efficiency. Projects scaling from large to small must have a designed plan to be executed. The collection of linked tasks in the business process ultimately leads to the accomplished organizational goal.
The study of business processes provided a foundation for how businesses operate within their setting. We learned that by completing many of the small tasks at hand, that would enable the business to accomplish the larger, organizational goal. Our group (AA) chose to complete the business process assignment by explaining how to properly tie a tie. Starting with an untied tie and following specific steps to reach the end product of a business professional knot that is suitable for any formal occasion.
The ERP system that we used during our simulation rounds was a great example of how a business operates within the market place. Our group got to experience different aspects of the operations management within the simulation such as pricing, marketing, debt, investing, logistics, ect. and how each of these fit into the company. We as students only get to experience the business aspect only through textbook and problems that already have a fixed answer. The ERP system allow us to experience these aspects as an operating business which allowed for actual interaction. I believe that this ERP system has given us valuable knowledge of how business operations actually work.
The ERP simulation also allowed me to personally learn about how my major functions in a business setting. I am an accounting major and was in charge of my team's financials and pricing. Being able to manage the accounts and pricing, I was exposed to actual responsibility that is found as an accountant. Also, I was able to see how my actions specifically effected my company which was a great learning experience for future career jobs.
