Guess My Business Process:
This video is an example of a business process. Starting with the development of an idea and then the steps to execute the idea and have the product come to life. The steps for a successful business process include:
By following these steps you will have a better business process because these steps allow you to be organized, plan ahead, test different products, and execute the system.
An important thing to establish when it comes to your product and process is the product model. The five different product models include
1. Made-to-Stock
Chips are a made to stock item because they are manufactured in a building and delivered by bulk to grocery stores all over the country. Then they are stocked on the shelves where they are ready to be purchased by the market. Once the shelves are out of stock there will be a new shipment waiting to refill the shelve. What the market demands does not depend much on this product. It a regularly bought item in stores.

2. Ship-To-Order
Amazon.com is a ship-to-order website. This is because millions of people all over the world order from a variety of things and then amazon ships it to them a few days later. They do not send the customer a product before they order it, they wait until the product is purchased and ship it to the customer.
3. Assemble-to-Order
Dell is an example of an assemble-to-order business model because Dell has a variety of parts of computer manufactured but they are not assembled yet. This is because Dell allows the customer to design a custom computer in which case Dell assembles the computer upon receiving the customer's order.
4. Make-To-Order
Burger King is a make to order company due to the fact that upon ordering your food the workers then decide to start putting it together. Therefore, your sandwich specifically made for your order.
5. Engineer-to-Order

This is an image comparing many different factors contributing to the different business model types.
As you can see the most basic model type is made to stock. This is because it does not have to wait for the customer to order something. While the engineer to order can take much longer than the others due to the fact it relies very heavily on the customers decision to order.
