'The Bangalore Urban District authorities on May 3 continued the demolition of illegal buildings constructed on Banaswadi lake land. They demolished around 50 structures on 7th Main of Kalyana Nagar on Sunday. The demolition of residential buildings has been stopped to give some time for residents to make alternative arrangements. “We have asked residents to submit the property documents for verification,’’ said Harish Nayak, tahsildar, Bangalore East.

On May 2, Nayak accompanied by hundreds of policemen, demolished more than 110 shops and houses that were allegedly built on government land. Citizens say that this is the second biggest demolition drive after the recent drive at Sarakki Lake. On April 16, the state government had recovered land worth more than Rs 2,000 crore, that had been illegally encroached upon by locals for around four decades.'

In May 2015, residents of a neighborhood in Bangalore were taken by surprise when their Sunday was marked with numerous police and bulldozers that were mobilized to demolish everything in their paths. 
At the end of the day, the entire area bore a look of devastation, something similar to a war zone. 
However in this case, justice did not prevail...
