I started off with quite a few initial sketches to try and figure out the most creative way of putting the letters 'N' and 'J' together for my self-promotion logo. 

Again, I sketched out another few thumbnails before bringing them onto the computer. I circled one of the thumbnail sketches in the image below because I liked the overlapping effect on it. However, even though I circled that particular one, there were many sketches I liked and so wanted to see how they might turn out on screen.

Once I brought the sketches to screen I was able to move them around in certain ways to try and come up with something creative. I was trying to incorporate some sort of illustration, whilst being someway structural, technique to some of the logos but it didn't quite work out for me the way I wanted it to.

The whole point of a self-promotional logo is to brand yourself and what you feel you stand for. I wish to do something along the lines of either illustration and/or branding. So because of this I tried to do a logo resembling a graphics tablet as I'm interested in digital painting. I did in fact like it but I felt it wasn't for me and so went back to one of the previous logos and developed that further.

If you didn't already notice I tend to like the colour blue. It's my favourite colour so it was always going to play a part in my logo. 

I went back to the over lapping logo and tried to develop it further. I felt a more structural approach to the logo would make it look more professional. I then gave it a few tints of gradient effect to really give it that over lapping look.
