A research/creation project on sacred spaces. The design is for a photo-exhibition-in-a-box, as a sample of the type of service I have provided for photographer friends in the past- but I feel like it's an interesting object all on its own. One of my photoshoots was used. I photo-documented a walk through the Montreal Botanical Gardens, and then extracted a narrative (nostalgic walk-through of Abrahamic religious narrative spaces, metaphorized by nature). The narrative begins in chaos and ends with stable infrastructure. This was plotted out spatially to fit a medium-sized gallery. The act of laying out the cards in order brings a certain element of performativity to the piece, too- good to have at a show pitch with sponsors.
The sampler also includes a little pamphlet, which I designed to contain my artistic statement. This means that the sampler can be understood all on its own, if you need to send it out.
Here is a selection of photo-cards, scanned for higher-fidelity reproduction
