To say I like fast food, is an understatement; I was practically raised on it. I have fond memories of my dad bringing me Taco Bell after volleyball practice and eating Whoppers by the time I was seven. While my mom hated how much I loved fast food, she couldn’t change my mind; I had already fallen in love with it. I loved the drive-thru pictures and television commercials because they were never indicative of the actual product.
But the older I got, the more I realized the repercussions of eating fast food. I realized most advertisements were synonymous with distraction. However, it never stopped me from eating fast food. If anything, I was intrigued with how advertisements were able to make me look past the health problems and onto the beauty of the picture. They were nonsensical, ironic, and humorous. This series looks into the specific techniques fast food advertisements uses to seduce the viewer.
