Erik Spiekermann is one of the most famous personalities in the world of graphic design. Eric is the author of many books, typographer, type designer, and a person with a good sense of humor. He is the founder and co-founder of companies such as MetaDesign, United Designers and Edenspiekermann. Spiekermann has worked on projects for companies such as Volkswagen, Bosch and German railways. He is the author of the famous font families such as ITC Officina, FF Meta, FF Unit.
The objective of this student project was to design a book about a chosen designer. The task was to design a book that is mostly approximate to the spirit of the selected designer. Layout design is inspired by a book by Eric Spiekermann «Stop Stealing Sheep & Find Out How Type Works». Cover design is a stylized letterpress wood letter lock-up.
