For this assignment I focused on the idea of comfort and private space. In the photos people are cheek by cheek, their faces touch and become one. Each of them have some sort of unnatural discomfort. I wanted to catch the moment where their feelings of discomfort, comfort, amusement or fear is released. I forced people to be more intimate, though many of them are related to each other (mother and son ; brothers ; grandson and grandma) their fake smiles, awkward faces, their reaction to this intimacy can be seen in their photos. I wanted to get rid of the idea that they have their private space. They’re all in the same place, like a subway. While the social life, transportation and the architecture brings people closer physically, we are getting more and more stranger than ever. We pile up in a shopping mall and past next to millions. There is only 20 cm wall between ourselves, trying to sleep and our neighbors next door, having sex.
