Final Layout
My final outcome is an installation made from 12 pieces of A3 papers being tied together at ends and hung-up from the ceiling. The 12 pieces were divided into 3 sections forming 3 walls. It hangs loosely from the ceiling and sways easily. With very little space in between the papers, it serves to create an uncomfortable and claustrophobic space for the audience as they are allowed to step into the space. It is very closed-in and the supposed environment has to be dark with only very little light outside of the installation space.
I intend my audience to be in the shoes of one who is kidnapped or held hostage. The feeling of panic and discomfort should arise. Since my installation is not easy to be moved about, I have created another mediun in showcasing my project. A video is combined with an audio that reflects my concept. I hope it helps in bringing the feeling forward to the audience the same way it did with the installation.
